STOP THE PRESS.... WILLOWCREST HAS JUST PURCHASED A STUNNING MALE TO COMPLIMENT THEIR ALREADY STELLAR BREEDING PROGAM
Shelley of Berkden Kennel has allowed a co-ownership on a stunning male to come and reside at Willowcrest. We are ever so delighted and greatfull! Oliver and now commonly called Oli comes with some absolutely grand breeding. Erinderry Kennel in Ireland has some of the most prestigious goldens in history and proud to say this is where Oli's parents were born. He comes to us with 5 generations of excellent hip/elbow and eyes. Erinderry is without a doubt one of the most recognized kennels for breeding strong, healthy and absolutely stunning dogs. I will be posting some pictures soon but for right now Oli is enjoying being a puppy as all puppies should. His absolute best friend is Gidget, that is when he is not snuggled close to me!
Well it is the middle of April and we have just had a 6 month re-union with the 7 brothers of Oli's litter and Oli's dad. Unfortunately Amber his mom could not join us as she was in season. I am hoping to post a picture from this wonderful day! A real tribute to Shelley and Janice for arranging such a great day. All the boys are just stunning. It was like being at a Golden Retriever Specialty! I sure wouldn't have wanted to judge! The boys all had a blast. Swimming, retrieving and just running amuck! Shelley a big thank you from Oli and I and all the boys! It was a real treat.
Breaking News!!!!!!! Laura and Sealy have just won overal Champion in the Adult Division for the year. They are also Reserve Champion in the very competitive division of Lows. A big Congratulations from all of us to Laura and Sealy. Good luck at the Provicial Championships.
You know it is only prudent to take a few minutes and discuss some issue's for anyone visiting my website. First I would like to call to attention the selling of unregistered, supposed, "purebred dogs". You know, as a buyer you must protect yourself, your family, and the health and well being of all dogs by avoiding these puppies for sell. Yes, they may be cheaper. But no they are not good value. When purchasing a REGISTERED dog you know the heritage of the dog. This cannot be faked. You know the health record's of the family tree. You can see pictures of famous dogs in the lines. The tempermants have been selected for breeding as well as health and conformation. Often puppies sold as purebred but not registered are inferior speciman's of the breed and honestly, sometimes I have seen some parents who just don't even look like a purebred. Why buy registered dogs? Because it is your guarantee that many years of thought and diligence of only breeding and selecting the best possible dogs.
I would also like to take this opportunity to add my opinion, on cross bred puppies. We are seeing an upswing in your I call them "designer puppies" . Your cocka poo's and your golden doodles, your labradoodle, your you name it and someone is breeding it. Please, give it lots of thought before you spend sometimes hundreds more for one of these cross bred dogs. I am not being high and mighty, there are great dogs that are cross bred. But why spend thousand on a dog with little or no predicted outcome. There is absolutely no proof that these crosses are hypo allergenic, or that they will be smaller, or bigger or better than a registered pure bred. In fact, just the opposite. Our shelters are overrun with these dogs because people bought one being told they wouldn't shed or grow big or whatever, and unhappily after sometimes thousands later find out they are not what the "breeder" represented. These are mutts. Pretty sometimes, but mutts. You have no idea how they will turn out. This is just a crap shoot and unfortunately people are spending hard earned money to find this very fact out! What upsets me, is the fact so many end up in shelters or abandonned and the animal lover that I am, find this very hard to take! We have seen a reduction in the puppy mills as a result of awarness, now please lets put a stop to this new trend of "designer puppies"
